At TYGOR Laboratories we specialize in the non-destructive test methods of Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI). Helicopter / Rotorcraft (New Manufacture & Overhaul/Repair)

Non-destructive testing and inspection of helicopter parts is our primary focus at TYGOR Labs. Our procedures, methods, equipment and experience are all centered on the exacting standards of rotorcraft hardware. This is the type of work that has shaped our business and it is what we excel at. We hold direct approvals from several prime manufacturers for the inspection of new parts being used on both military and commercial helicopters. We are also an FAA Approved Repair Station for the inspection of overhaul parts. We often see the same parts both as new and again at overhaul which gives us a unique perspective for finding potential problem areas. Ultimately, it is our helicopter experience that sets us apart and enables us to give you the best inspection service possible.

Fixed-Wing Aircraft (New Manufacture & Overhaul/Repair)

Aircraft and aerospace parts are a natural carry over from our helicopter work at TYGOR Labs. We hold direct approvals from various prime manufacturers and are an FAA Approved Repair Station for non-destructive testing. Our inspection experience ranges from mass produced landing gear strut pins to overhauling wing mounts with the wing still attached. Overhaul parts tend to be the majority of fixed-wing work that we see. Whether supporting Fixed Base Operators, individual A&Ps or private owners/builders, our years of expertise are at your service.

Vintage & Specialty Automotive

Some drivers are competitors and want to ensure maximum safety on the race track. Other drivers are hobbyists and want to be sure they’re using good parts for that one of a kind restoration. For either task you can count on TYGOR Labs to help you through. When first manufactured, most production automobile parts were never tested or simply don’t have “used part” acceptance standards. The same holds true for competitive vehicles which may be completely one-off designs built by the user. Through the years TYGOR has built a competent level of experience for working through exactly that kind of scenario. From one time inspections to regular support of your race equipment, TYGOR is a part of your team.

Chemical & Industrial Processing

Several items used in the bulk handling of fluids and materials require non-destructive testing. TYGOR Labs regularly works with a variety of manufacturers making items such as valves, fittings, thermowells, sensing probes, welded assemblies, support structures, etc. Inspection requirements for these items are usually to various ASME or ASTM specifications which we use regularly. Our background in aerospace inspection ensures you get the best expertise available for your project.

Medical Implants

Titanium and Stainless Steel are both commonly used for hip replacements, knee replacements and other orthopedic structures. In many cases, these items require non-destructive testing to commercial standards such as ASTM E1417. At TYGOR, we have experience with several types of these parts and even more experience with these types of materials. We process all medical parts using the same equipment and procedures we use for aerospace parts to ensure maximum quality. As with each of our customers, our expertise is at your service.

Specialty Tooling & Ground Handling Equipment

In many cases the designers of specialty tooling, fixtures or handling equipment require non-destructive testing. In such cases the inspection requirements are most commonly to commercial standards such as ASTM E1417 or ASTM E1444; both of which we perform regularly. Our experience with special tools range in quantities from one-off parts to high volume assemblies and sizes that fit in your hand to several feet in diameter.
